Choosing Walnut-Colored Boards

Walnut-colored finishes are currently offered by all the major manufacturers; however, after looking around, I found that the options tended to be either too pale, too dark, too reddish, too black, or featured overly large grain patterns. Ultimately, I decided to prioritize my criteria in a specific order—the best choice depends on what matters most to *you*.

My top priority was environmental safety—specifically, meeting at least the ENF standard. Crucially, I insisted on *pre-finished* ENF boards.
The reason for this is that many ENF-certified products are actually "raw boards" (substrate) that are veneered later. The problem with this approach is that you cannot be certain the veneer applied is truly the specific material you ordered; furthermore, the type of adhesive used is often unknown, and no subsequent testing is typically conducted. For these reasons, I ruled out the option of raw boards with applied veneers.
The candidates that made my final shortlist were:
Shuixing Ketian (Pre-finished)
Furen (Pre-finished)
Liangshi LBP (Pre-finished)
Lingnan Wood (Pre-finished)
Egger (Pre-finished)
Hongmianhua (Pre-finished)
My second priority was odor, as I am quite sensitive to smells.
Based on online reviews regarding odor, I eliminated Furen, as it was reported to have a very strong scent (specifically, a pine-like smell).
My third criterion was the grain pattern and aesthetics.
Liangshi offered the widest variety of patterns, but their pre-finished boards are not available for sale in the Hunan region.
Neither Ketian nor Hongmianhua had any patterns that I found appealing.
My final choice, therefore, came down to Lingnan Wood and Egger.
