How is wood veneer produced?

Walnut, oak, and teak logs are harvested annually during peak seasons, with large quantities stockpiled from May to July. After being steamed and softened, the wood is rotary-cut into whole sheets of veneer. Without the steaming process, the wood remains dry, and the veneer will curl up after being cut, and its hard texture will cause it to break and crack when stretched manually.

Rotary-cut veneer: 30-60 microns, primarily thin. Thin veneers are suitable for soft-covering processes, such as irregular shapes.

Sliced veneer: 50-150 microns, suitable for door panels and wood veneers. Standard 50-80 microns results in a neat grain, while 100-150 microns not only provides a clear grain but also a more defined texture, allowing for both tactile and visual appreciation of the wood's quality. Thicker veneers are suitable for high-end door panels and wood veneers.

Sawing: 4-6 mm wood veneer, suitable for textured boards and the surface layer of high-end flooring. Sawing wood veneer does not require steaming or boiling; it can be understood as the same principle as wood board processing. The cut surface is smooth, resulting in better wear resistance and toughness in later use.

Wood Veneer Drying: Low-temperature slow drying prevents the wood veneer from warping and shrinking. The production process of wood veneer consists of these steps. Finally, it must undergo trimming, sorting, and quality inspection before entering storage, awaiting use.
