A complete list of commonly used finishes for whole house customization! I wonder who still doesn't know how to choose!
The previous few notes talked about how to choose imported and domestic boards, and also talked about the advantages and disadvantages of several common substrates, which can help you have more references when choosing materials.
But there is another very important point about boards, that is - finish! It is almost equivalent to the facade of the board. At the same time, different finishes will have completely different feelings when used. Today's note will mainly introduce the 5 common finish materials on the market~
Double veneer panel
Material: Double veneer paper is also called melamine veneer paper. It is made of melamine impregnated paper through high temperature pressing and then edge sealing; commonly used substrates are particle board, European pine board, multi-layer board, and ecological board.
👍Advantages: wear-resistant, high temperature resistant, corrosion-resistant, waterproof, environmentally friendly, multiple styles, high cost performance;
❌Disadvantages: edge banding is more demanding on machinery and equipment, not easy to shape, and not easy to repair after bumps;
Painted board
Material: Paint is a spraying process, and the surface needs to be sprayed six times and then baked at high temperature; commonly used substrates are density boards and solid wood boards.
👍Advantages: rich colors, waterproof, fireproof and moisture-proof, good finish, easy to maintain;
❌Disadvantages: complex process, long production cycle, afraid of bumps and scratches, difficult to repair, high price;
Solid wood veneer board
Material: soak and dry the thinned logs, and then apply glue on the substrate with a high-temperature hot press; commonly used substrate density board, multi-layer board, solid wood board, particle board, ecological board;
👍Advantages: high-end, good texture, good feel, real surface texture;
❌Disadvantages: relatively delicate, poor waterproof and fireproof performance, easy to deform and crack when air is dry, and high price;
Blister/Molded Board
Material: On the selected substrate board, the PVC film is tightly attached through the principle of vacuum blister to form a decoration Decorative panels; commonly used substrates are density boards and multi-layer boards; 👍Advantages: waterproof, environmentally friendly, rich in colors, diverse shapes, realistic wood grain, not easy to crack and deform, no edge sealing required; ❌Disadvantages: not resistant to UV rays, not very resistant to high temperatures, cannot be in contact with or close to high-temperature objects for a long time, and cannot be designed too long otherwise it will easily deform;

PET film
Material: PET is a packaging food-grade plastic material, non-toxic and odorless, can be made into matte or glossy surfaces, matte surface is the skin-feel door panel; commonly used substrates are density boards, particle boards, and European pine boards; 👍Advantages: comfortable and smooth feel, high-grade texture, not easy to fade and deform, waterproof and antibacterial, high-gloss film is easy to clean; ❌Disadvantages: cannot be shaped, skin-feel film is not resistant to oil stains, and the price is high.
