Olive Wood Veneer

Although both Olive Ash Veneer and regular Ash Veneer come from the same tree species, Fraxinus excelsior (European ash), they have distinct differences in appearance and usage:
⸻
1. Wood grain and color differences:
Olive Ash Veneer
• It has contrasting dark stripes and wavy grain, and its color sometimes resembles olive wood, hence the name.
• Commonly seen are sections of intermediate heartwood mixed with lighter sapwood, with a natural texture and highly decorative.
• Color: Off-white to dark brown, sometimes with golden or green-brown hues.
Ash Veneer
• The grain is straight and even, tending toward straight lines or slight waves, with a simple appearance.
• Mainly sapwood is used, which is light white or beige in color and has a bright luster.
• Commonly found in North America (White Ash) or Europe (European Ash).

2. Differences in usage:
Olive Ash Veneer
• Due to its unique texture and strong color contrast, it is often used in:
• High-end furniture panels
• Car interior
• Custom Cabinets
• Musical instruments and interior highlights
• It is highly decorative and is often listed alongside high-end materials such as walnut and rosewood.
Ash Veneer
• Used for large-area decoration, furniture, door panels, etc., pursuing a natural, fresh and bright feeling.
• It is more inclined to modern and simple style, with relatively low cost and high stability.
⸻
3. Price and Rarity:
• Olive Ash is more expensive and has unstable supply because it comes from the junction of heartwood and sapwood, has a smaller proportion, and is difficult to produce with a beautiful and neat texture.
• Ordinary Ash Veneer has abundant resources and stable cost control, and is one of the common bulk building materials.
⸻
To sum up in one sentence:
Olive Ash Veneer is the most artistic of all Ash Veneers, a rare wood product with marble-like texture, while ordinary Ash Veneer is the first choice of refreshing white wood for daily applications.
