What is shadow wood? Is it natural veneer?
Shadow wood, also known as "thin wood," doesn't refer to a specific wood species, but rather to wood with burls or shadows.
What does shadow wood veneer look like? (Figures 1-7: Different textures of original veneer)
Shadow wood veneer isn't a specific tree species, but rather refers to wood with burls or shadows.
It's made by cutting natural or engineered wood into thin slices and then processing it.
Shadow wood parquet reflects varying light and shadow at different angles, resembling a flowing landscape painting.
The pure natural material creates a unique charm with the white veins and slight maple spots that appear after dyeing.
Warm Tips (Figures 8-11)
Natural veneer can vary in color after dyeing due to differences in tree age, sunlight, growing environment, grain, and moisture content. Veneer with the same serial number may exhibit slight color and grain variations after dyeing due to different batches. This is normal.
Veneer from the same batch may experience visual color differences due to light and shadow when laminated horizontally and vertically. By aligning the veneers in the same direction, the color will remain consistent.
