Designers must know the veneer collage method!

How should veneer be pasted? Straight grain is graceful, mountain grain is wild; light wood is warm, dark wood is calm. Due to the variety of wood, the method of collage veneer is naturally not limited to the two types of straight pattern and combined pattern.
Generally speaking, there are five common methods of collage, namely: combined pattern, straight pattern, natural pattern, cultural pattern, solid wood pattern.

1⃣️Straight pattern
Select the same veneer with "straight texture" and paste it on the board in order to avoid the curved wood texture, which will cause gradual space distortion visually. The style is neat and simple.

2⃣️Combined pattern
The veneer is pasted one front and one back, and a pair of front and back veneers is a unit; the more curved part of the veneer will form a diamond-shaped pattern, presenting a perfect symmetrical effect.
So the veneer with "slightly curved texture" generally adopts the combined pattern method. In addition, because the front and back of the veneer reflect light at different angles, it is easy to produce yin and yang color difference, which is a normal phenomenon.

3⃣️Natural splicing
The biggest feature is that there is no mountain pattern, and all lines are straight lines. When collage, if the straight line is reversed 90 degrees, there will be a visual sense of extended space, and a small space can also have a sense of large space.
All natural wood veneers with straight lines are irregularly arranged and collaged, which can make the decorative space highly unified and more coordinated, and the overall look is simple and refreshing.

4⃣️Cultural splicing
Splicing with shorter veneers, regardless of length or width, is arranged in an irregular manner, which is very suitable for commercial space and can present a sense of grandeur.

5⃣️Solid wood splicing
The interlaced collage of straight lines and mountain patterns fully expresses the varied line texture of natural wood. Especially for parts with extension such as walls, the use of solid wood splicing makes the space very layered.
