Several common wood veneer sealing effects in home
In addition to real wood veneer, the common wood veneer effects in home include some imitation wood veneer stickers/films/printings. However, real wood veneer is generally not used directly in home applications because real wood veneer feels rough and is generally treated with waterproof coatings.
There are three common effects of wood veneer coating sealing:
1. Fully sealed paint: Fully sealed paint refers to the use of paint (such as polyurethane paint, nitro paint, etc.) to completely cover the pores and texture of the wood surface to form a smooth and uniform surface layer.
•Features: This treatment method can provide better protection, prevent moisture and stains from penetrating into the wood, and also make the surface smoother and easier to clean. The surface gloss of furniture or wood products after sealing paint is higher, and the wood grain details may not be so obvious.
•Common applications: modern, American, and French style furniture or interior decoration that pursues smoothness and easy maintenance.
2. Semi-open paint: Semi-open paint is a coating method between closed paint and open paint. It not only retains a certain degree of wood texture and natural feel, but also provides a certain surface protection layer.
• Features: By controlling the type of paint, dilution ratio and number of coating layers, semi-open paint can provide better wear resistance and stain resistance than open paint while maintaining the partial openness of the wood. The surface gloss and transparency can be adjusted as needed, which has both natural beauty and practicality.
• Common applications: Furniture or decoration that wants to show the natural beauty of wood and requires a certain degree of durability.
3. Open paint: The open paint process aims to retain the natural texture of wood, especially the visual effects of wood grain pores and texture. Usually, oil-based paint or water-based paint with good permeability is used, and the number of coating layers is less, which better shows the natural characteristics of wood.
• Features: Open paint can maximize the natural beauty of wood, feel more natural, and has certain air permeability and moisture absorption and regulation capabilities. But relatively speaking, it is not as protective as closed paint and is easily contaminated and worn.
• Common applications: high-end furniture, vintage style or designs that emphasize natural textures.
